JOHANNESBURG – Officials from Mpumalanga’s Education Department will visit the Bushbuckridge Primary School on Tuesday where a teacher was gunned down by her husband.

Kate Chiloane was shot dead on Monday in full view of primary school pupils.

It’s understood that her husband followed her to work, where they argued before he pulled out a gun and killed her.

The man later took his own life at home.

The department’s Jasper Zwane says: “We’ll be at the school. We’ll be able to ascertain what really happened from the school level and we’ll be able then to respond to some of those questions.

“We’re going to work with some of the law enforcement agencies to probe the circumstances that led to this regrettable incident.”
